Nautical Look with Mod Bod

The nautical look is a fun, easy to put together, and fashion forward style to try out this spring & summer. The ladies at Blend Fashions, our favorite clothing boutique here in Utah, put together this great tutorial.

Here at Mod Bod we have the perfect items to use in this style: the high waisted A-Line skirt, red tanks, blue shirts and white tops. Be sure to watch the fun tutorial below:

Working Mod Bod into your Winter Wear put together a fun video of their new sweaters and jackets for Winter 2010 and gave Mod Bod a shoutout! Just another way to work our Mod Bod Basic line into the current fashions. Remember, Mod Bod can make your outfits appropriate and give them even more pop!

Featured Look of the Week

Our favorite boutique (where you can buy items online now too) featured a “Look of the Week” that is a perfect example of how to use one of our tops. This sheer polka dot top needs some extra coverage which is why you just simply layer a mod bod top underneath. Fabulous outfit.

Look of the Week

I am a big believer in comfort.

Yes, I admit, I subject myself to a lot of pain in the

name of fashion;

that is why, I love finding outfits that look great

and FEEL great!

What is more comfortable than a great pair of jeans.

This week, I featured another pair of our Prvcy jeans,

which not only fit great,

but keep their shape wash after wash.

I then paired the jeans with this great new white tunic

that arrived this week.

It is a 3/4 sleeve sheer polka dot top.

It is simple, yet dresses up a pair of jeans.

You could also pair this tunic with some leggings and boots.

Because the look is clean and simple,

you can put a great necklace with it,

to add more style.

I finished the outfit off with our new brown boots.

Now you are ready to go out and finish your holiday shopping.

Prvcy Please

We wanted to feature a brand we love that are making a difference.

Prvcy Jeans were founded by Carolyn Jones.

Carolyn’s mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and during her final days fighting the battle, Carolyn came up with the idea to start a company that would aid in the fight against Breast Cancer.

The jeans all showcase the “Lifeline” design patterned after a heart monitor screen to tell the story of Carolyn’s tragedy of losing her mother.

The lifeline is made with three threads that stand for

Faith, Hope, and Love.

Ten percent of ALL sales goes towards Breast Cancer awareness

and FREE mammogram programs for women all over the U.S.

We love the jeans, not only for the good they are doing,

but because of the great fit.

They come in all sizes, and all types of cuts,

which makes them flattering on all types of body styles.

These jeans are also causing quite a stir in Hollywood.

You can buy these jeans at our favorite boutique,

Natural Looking Makeup

Four of my children are girls, so our home is buzzing with clothing, makeup and fashion talk. One of the main reasons I started the mod bod line was a bit of a selfish one: I wanted a line my teenage girls could use to keep them modest and allow them to wear the current trends.

I also love when I find products, lines, tutorials that portray a similar message, in other words, that you can be beautiful and stunning while still being modest and natural.

My girls and I found these fabulous makeup tutorials to help teach them about makeup application. Aside from special occasions, I love natural, clean looking makeup. And it helps to have someone their own age, who obviously keeps up on today’s fashion, show them the same thing!

Hopefully you will enjoy this video as much as we did so you can use it for yourself or watch it with your girls!

ModBod at Blend Fashions

Our line is available for purchase online at but if you are in Utah they are also available at Blend Fashions. It is always nice to see the fabric, colors, styles in person so you can get a better feel for the tees!

The cowl neck top is a great summer piece and is perfect with the a-line baroque patterned skirt pictured above. You can also pair the cowl neck with a pair of fabulous denim jeans and layer it with a modbod cami with lace, which makes it even more fun!

My ruffle tanks are another fun item you can find at Blend Fashions. I love the vibrant colors and they are perfect for all seasons. Once again you can pair it with a fabulous pair of denim or my black pencil skirt.

I love these banded cardigans I designed paired with my lace-front camis. The cardigan has a deep v-neck so you can really show off the beautiful lace in the cami.

Be sure to check out these fashions in person at Blend Fashions in Pleasant Grove, Utah. If you are somewhere else in the country be sure to check them out online!

Tulip Skirt

The fabulous staff over at Blend Fashions used my Tulip skirt to show how you can use one classic piece for three completely different occasions. We are showing you the brown version today but you can also buy it in black and raspberry from

This is a very classic piece and a wonderful essential to put in your wardrobe. Today they showed more of a modern, bohemian look for what you can pair it with and I just love it!

#1 Pair it with summer’s hottest top, the racerback tank. Simply throw on a modbod undershirt if you need it to be more modest!

#2 Pair it with a light summer jacket–this shade of pink is such a perfect accompaniment to my brown Tulip skirt!

#3 Pair it with a fun, flowing baby doll top. This top will work well for the in-between months from summer to fall.

Thanks to the gals over at Blend Fashions–we love the ideas!
